The brief was simple
This was the move-to home for a couple preparing for retirement. Due to mobility issues they downsized from a large two-storey home. Even so, this bungalow needed to be extended to support today’s lifestyle. Not happy with the typical box-like arrangement they had been offered, they approached Alex to explore other possibilities within the already applied-for extension outline. The design offered an optimized usage of square metres available with no wasted spaces. It also moved away from the space fragmentation typical of many UK homes, creating a large main living space in direct relation to the daily kitchen and dining hub.
Waste of space? Not here. Fully functional bedrooms and bathrooms. Movement flows from room to room.
